Get started with PhoneFarm: from first phone to first post

Learn how PhoneFarm connects your cloud phone, dedicated proxy, TikTok account and video library, then follow the complete first-post setup.

Your first PhoneFarm workflow connects four things: a phone, its internet connection, an account inside an app, and the content you want to publish. The dashboard brings those pieces together so you can work from your computer. A successful setup ends with the right content visible on the right account—not merely a phone appearing in a list.

This guide walks through the cloud-phone route using TikTok as the worked example. PhoneFarm also provides apps including Instagram and YouTube. The same preparation principles—usable phone, working connection, correct account and approved content—apply, while each app has its own controls and available workflows. If you are still deciding whether to use hosted phones, your own devices or a physical installation, start with what a phone farm is and the device comparison.

Understand what each part does

The cloud phone is the Android environment in which your apps run. You interact with its screen through PhoneFarm live control. It is separate from your computer: downloading a file to your laptop does not put that file on the phone, and connecting your laptop to a VPN does not configure the phone's network.

The dedicated proxy provides the phone's configured route to the internet. PhoneFarm's setup flow asks for a residential or ISP proxy in the same country as the phone, binds it, and checks the exit from the phone. This is the connection that the phone's apps use.

The TikTok account belongs to you or the business you are authorized to operate. You sign into it inside TikTok on the phone. Signing into the PhoneFarm website and signing into TikTok are separate actions with separate credentials.

The Videos library holds the files you intend to distribute. A library item is an input to a publishing workflow. Adding one does not immediately create a TikTok post.

Prepare these items before creating the phone

Have your PhoneFarm login, the target country, your proxy connection details, and access to the social account's recovery methods ready. Keep the recovery email, phone or authenticator available during the first login; a verification prompt can interrupt an otherwise complete setup.

For the proxy, collect its protocol, host, port, username and password. Ask your proxy supplier whether it is a dedicated residential or ISP connection and which country its exit uses. A rotating pool URL and a dedicated endpoint are different products, even when both are sold under the word “residential.” The network guide explains the fields and verification.

Prepare one finished video for the first publishing test. Use an asset whose content, sound, captions and destination account have already been decided. Starting with one file and one phone makes it easy to see where a problem occurs. You can expand once that entire route works.

For example, a small desk-accessory brand might prepare a 25-second original product demonstration, its final caption, and one authorized brand account. The immediate objective is to publish that specific demonstration correctly; reach and sales are measured afterward.

Step 1: obtain a phone and complete its setup

Open Phones in the PhoneFarm dashboard. If you already have an unused purchase awaiting setup, continue that purchase. If you are starting fresh, use the phone purchase flow and review the available Android version, country, quantity and current price before completing it.

Each paid phone purchase supplies one phone setup slot. Buying a phone and finishing its configuration are separate stages. A payment confirmation is a reason to continue setup, not to purchase again when creation is still processing.

The setup runway takes you through Create phone, the dedicated proxy connection, and the ready state. After the phone is created, enter the proxy details and select Verify and bind proxy. When that succeeds, use Open phone details or the embedded live view. See the first-phone walkthrough for the complete sequence and the meaning of intermediate states.

Step 2: check the actual phone, then install TikTok

Connect to live control. A visible screen should respond when you select Home or Back. If the browser offers Play, select it to allow the stream to start. If the phone screen is asleep, use Wake screen.

Check a web page from a browser inside the phone. This confirms the phone can reach the internet; opening a page in a separate desktop browser tab would test your computer instead.

Use Install apps after setup, or open Apps and select the intended phone. Install TikTok from the available catalog and wait for the installation to complete. Then open it in live control. An installation request being accepted is different from the app being ready to launch.

Step 3: sign into the intended TikTok account

Sign in inside TikTok using the method associated with that account. Complete any verification with the account owner's recovery method. Open the profile and check the exact handle, avatar and existing content. Similar display names are easy to confuse; the handle is the useful identifier.

PhoneFarm checks the live app session before supported publishing work. You do not need to invent a separate account-binding step to make a logged-in TikTok app exist. If the dashboard's cached account information has not caught up, inspect the phone before signing out or starting over.

Use Connect your TikTok account for installation, first login and multi-account considerations.

Step 4: add and inspect your final video

Open Videos, choose Add video, and use Upload from your computer or a supported public video URL. Select Add to library and check the saved preview. Watch the opening, the ending and a section with speech or music. Confirm that this is the final export, not an older cut with a similar filename.

Keep a descriptive version name such as desk-demo-cable-tidy-v03.mp4. A reliable naming scheme becomes particularly useful when you have several hooks or edits of the same demonstration. The upload guide covers formats, URL imports and partial batch uploads.

Step 5: publish one item and verify it

Where the Run now publishing controls are available, choose one video, TikTok, and one intended phone. Read the Phone readiness matrix and resolve any missing app or stopped-phone state. Review the caption and selection summary before choosing Run now on eligible phones.

Follow the attempt in Publish jobs and inspect the corresponding Proof reports. Then open the account in the phone and verify the actual post: correct profile, correct video, correct caption and intended visibility. Record its link if available. The first-post guide explains each step in detail.

If something stops, go to the first failed layer

Once the first complete workflow works, repeat it with a second approved asset before adding more phones. This reveals whether your preparation, publishing and verification process is repeatable. A fleet is useful when it expands a working process; extra devices cannot repair an unfinished content or account workflow.

For other platforms, use Instagram and YouTube account preparation to check the exact profile or channel, account access and required features before planning publication.
