Publish your first TikTok video with PhoneFarm
Walk through video selection, caption, TikTok phone readiness, Run now, publish jobs and proof reports, then verify the post on the correct account.
A first publish run should answer a concrete question: can this phone publish this approved video to this TikTok account, and can you confirm the result afterward? Start with one video, one platform and one phone. That gives you a clear baseline before you use a larger selection.
This guide covers the Videos → Run now flow where those publishing controls are enabled in your dashboard. Phone setup and manual TikTok login come first. If your account does not expose the described publishing action, contact PhoneFarm about availability rather than looking for an unrelated control.
What PhoneFarm uses to publish
The workflow needs a source asset in the Videos library, a destination platform, a target phone, post text and a timing selection. PhoneFarm prepares work for the selected phone and checks app readiness before dispatch. The post itself belongs to the social account open in that phone's app.
Your selections therefore need to agree. A video title may identify the campaign, but the target phone determines where the app action runs. Before publishing, open that phone in live control and confirm the exact TikTok handle.
Prepare the phone and the publishing packet
The phone should be running, its dedicated connection should work, and TikTok should be installed. Open TikTok and confirm the intended profile. Resolve any verification screen or account notice before submitting a post.
Prepare the following as one publishing packet:
| Item | Example of a clear instruction |
|---|---|
| Source asset | desk-lamp-demo-hook-a-v03.mp4, already reviewed in the library |
| Destination | TikTok account handle and its assigned PhoneFarm phone |
| Caption | The exact final text, including any necessary disclosure |
| Creative requirements | Correct language, product shown, audio and final call to action |
| Timing | Run now for this first test |
| Expected result | One post with the approved video and caption on that profile |
This example describes an original product demonstration, not a growth guarantee. A technically successful publication and a commercially successful video are different outcomes.
Select one video in the library
Open Videos and locate the approved item. Play its preview before selecting it, especially when several versions share a thumbnail. Confirm the opening, ending and sound.
If the file is not in the library yet, follow Upload videos to PhoneFarm. Adding a file and selecting it for publication are separate steps. A locally queued filename is not a saved library asset.
For the first run, keep only one asset selected. This makes the plan and resulting job easy to compare. Clear old selections left from a previous session before reviewing the new plan.
Choose TikTok and Run now
Under Distribute to, choose TikTok. The interface may also show other supported destinations, but each platform has its own installed-app and account requirements. Selecting all platforms does not bypass those checks.
Choose Run now in Publish timing. This means start through the queue as soon as the system can prepare the selected work. It is not a promise that the post appears at the exact second you click. Read the timing explanation shown in your dashboard.
Enter the final text in TikTok caption. Check spelling, claims, destination references and whether the text matches this exact video. A caption that says “see the third step” is wrong if the final export contains only two steps.
Read the Phone readiness matrix
Select the intended phone and inspect its TikTok readiness. The matrix helps separate device, app and account problems:
| Readiness message or condition | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Phone is not running | The selected phone cannot currently execute the app work | Return to the phone and establish a usable running state |
| App is not installed | TikTok is not available on that phone | Install it through Apps, then check the phone again |
| Account is unavailable | The recorded account state prevents the run | Inspect the app and address the account condition |
| Login will be checked before publishing | The current saved login snapshot is unknown or stale | Confirm the intended profile yourself; PhoneFarm checks the live session before dispatch |
| Ready | The current selection passes the displayed checks | Still review the destination, asset and caption before submitting |
A phone can be selectable while a fresh login check is pending. That avoids making you repeat an account-binding process when you have already signed in on the phone. It also means readiness is a checkpoint, not a guarantee that a new challenge cannot appear during execution.
Review the assignment and submit once
Read the plan summary. For this first attempt, it should represent your one video, TikTok and the intended phone. Check any message about skipped combinations or insufficient slots before continuing.
Select Run now on eligible phones once. Wait for the interface to save the plan and show the resulting work. If the screen appears delayed, inspect the saved jobs before clicking again. A second click after an uncertain response can create a second request rather than help the first one finish.
When you later select several assets or platforms, pay attention to the displayed assignment rules. The interface keeps each video paired with its assigned phone, and unavailable phone/platform combinations can be skipped instead of moving that video to another phone. Do not assume that every selected video will be broadcast to every selected device.
Follow the result in Publish jobs and Proof reports
Publish jobs shows saved publishing work, including status, platform, video, schedule, caption and error information. Match the row to the asset and time of your attempt. A job record confirms that work was recorded; it does not by itself prove the platform accepted a post.
Proof reports shows evidence from phone posting runs, including the phone, time, caption, available screenshot and next-step guidance. Open the screenshot where present. A screenshot of a composer or progress screen is different from a screenshot of the completed post.
Follow an explicit request for attention before sending more work to that phone. If the result is uncertain, use Verify publication and prevent duplicate retries.
Confirm the actual TikTok post
Open the intended profile on the phone. Find the new post and check the video, caption, account handle and intended visibility. Play enough of the video to confirm it is the correct export. Save the post link if available.
If the post exists but has few views, publication succeeded; investigate performance in the measurement guides. If the content is still in a composer, draft or platform processing state, do not label it a confirmed public post.
When no matching post is visible, first compare the job and proof details with the account you checked. If the result remains unclear, inspect it before retrying. The publishing failure guide identifies the first failing stage and the appropriate recovery.
After this first run, you should know the real asset-to-phone-to-account path. Repeat it with another approved asset, then increase the selection only when your team can review outcomes and resolve exceptions reliably.
